Jane's Guide Here's all the help you need to use Jane.

Putting Tags to Work

In this guide, we’re going to share some examples of how you can use Tags to manage your Online Booking availability! Before we dive in, let’s review a few important things about Tags:

🏷️ Tag Basics

Mary has a lot of clients that she sees regularly, so she only wants new clients to be able to book Initial Assessments through her Online Booking site 1-2 days/week.

How can she make this happen? Tags!

  • A Tag is something you create in Jane and add to your Treatments/Sessions and Shifts in order to control when clients are able to book specific Treatments through your Online Booking site.

  • Once a Treatment has been Tagged, it will only appear on the Online Booking site where you have set up Shifts with the same Tag. Similarly, once a Shift has been Tagged, only Treatments with that matching Tag will appear during that Shift.
    • You can add as many Tags to a Shift as you’d like!
    • You can leave some Treatments/Shifts without a Tag: un-Tagged Treatments will still appear on un-Tagged Shifts.
  • Tags only apply to Online Booking for clients, and you can always choose to override a Tag when booking appointments on the admin side of Jane

🔥Hot tip: People often use these Tagging scenarios to carve out separate time for Online Appointments and in-person appointments!

You’d like to offer certain Treatments…

  • Scenario One: on certain days with all of your other Treatments available on those days as well.

  • Scenario Two: on certain days without all of your other Treatments available on those days.

  • Scenario Three: at certain times of day with all of your other Treatments also available during those times.

  • Scenario Four: at certain times of day without all of your other Treatments available during those times.

✍️ Let’s name our Tags

For the following scenarios, we’re going to use four Treatments:

  • Initial Assessment and Treatment
  • Subsequent Treatment
  • In-home Session
  • Complimentary Session

When deciding how to Tag these Treatments, we need to think about how we would like them to appear on our Online Booking site.

If there’s one particular Treatment that we’re trying to limit to certain days/times, we might give that Treatment a specific Tag name (ex. have it match the Treatment name). We could then Tag our remaining Treatments with a ‘general’ Tag to make it quick and easy to add all of those to each Shift.

For our scenarios, we’ve chosen to offer our Initial and Subsequent Treatments on most days and limit our In-Home and Complimentary sessions to specific days/times.
