Here’s some info on moving your data over from MRX to Jane.
What Type of Data can be Imported?
MRX data is brought over via backup file. From the backup, we move over your patient list and demographics, and past and future appointments.
If you would like insurance information or other parts of your database moved over as notes please check to see if it’s importable.
Billing Data is unfortunately not stored in a way that is compatible with Jane so invoice and payment information does not transfer.
MRX typically exports chart data to XML format. While we can work with XML files for importing patient and appointment data, we are unable to work with this format for your chart entries.
We recommend having MRX export your charts to XML and storing them on your local device for future reference and additionally storing the XML of your chart export on a hard drive as back-up, just to be safe.
Creating your Backup
After you’re done your day, close out of MRX.
Choose to backup when prompted.
Find the backup file that was created which will look something like this although with different numbers: full20181030-1119.zip. The date should be the current date.
Uploading your Backup to Jane
To ensure that your data is uploaded to the correct account, and for security reasons, we do not accept patient data via email. You can upload the files to us in the Settings > Schedule an Import area.
You can find an overview of this process here: Scheduling Your Import
Importing from the backup usually takes 18-24 hours to run. So be sure to book your import at a time where you have the most downtime. To book your import send us a note at email@example.com
If you are in BC and using Teleplan, we have some tips:
1 - When you import your data to Jane, you can’t leave your Teleplan connection live within MRX because Teleplan will send the data to the wrong system. Without a live connection to Teleplan, MRX can no longer access your previous remittance history. We recommend printing copies of your outstanding remittances before disabling your MRX connection to Teleplan.
2 - We also wrote a help file for your Teleplan Transition
Setting up your Jane Treatments
When you create treatments in Jane, you only need to create private pay treatments as Jane will work with Insurers separately. You will need to transition your insurance claims manually.
